Thursday, Sept. 14

We drove from Boulder to Durango. It took about seven hours. It was a clear day with great mountain scenery, including Kenosha Pass, the Collegiate Peaks in the Sawatch Range,  the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, Wolf Creek Pass, and Chimney Rock. We grabbed a late lunch of focaccia at Pagosa Baking Co. in Pagosa Springs.
Wolf Creek Overlook, looking west just after crossing
the Continental Divide at 10,850 feet elevation.

We had shipped our bicycles
to our motel in Durango.
We assembled them in our room and stored the boxes in the car.

Here's a map of the Collegiate Peaks area. We were driving on Route 285. Years ago, Rick climbed some of these fourteeners on a hiking trip on the Colorado Trail, from Kenosha Pass to Buena Vista.
Dinner was at Cocina Linda.
