Thursday, Sept. 14 We drove from Boulder to Durango. It took about seven hours. It was a clear day with great mountain scenery, including Kenosha Pass, the Collegiate Peaks in the Sawatch Range, the Sangre de Cristo Mountains, Wolf Creek Pass, and Chimney Rock. We grabbed a late lunch of focaccia at Pagosa Baking Co. in Pagosa Springs. |

. . . We had shipped our bicycles to our motel in Durango. We assembled them in our room and stored the boxes in the car. |

. Here's a map of the Collegiate Peaks area. We were driving on Route 285. Years ago, Rick climbed some of these fourteeners on a hiking trip on the Colorado Trail, from Kenosha Pass to Buena Vista. |
Dinner was at Cocina
