Tuesday, Sept. 19 -- Telluride

  We planned this day in Telluride as a rest day -- no biking. We did our laundry, had a nice big breakfast at Las Montanas and checked our e-mail at the library. Then it was time for an easy hike up Bear Creek Canyon (round trip, 4.5 miles; elevation gain, 1,040 feet).

  We did some window-shopping in town and picked up breakfast food for the next day. Back at Telluride Mountainside Inn, we were set for a soak in the hot tub, but it was turned off.
We rode the gondola again to watch the sunset before dinner.
