Uphill to Nishihara
We were able to avoid central Kumamoto, and traffic was light on
this national holiday, Respect for the Aged Day. We made our customary
stop at a conbini for rice triangles, during which it rained again
for a few minutes. On Route 28 we started climbing alongside a pretty river.
