Hostel and onsen 

  We reached the Aso Senomoto Youth Hostel about half an hour before a colorful sunset, ate dinner there and walked back about 1 kilometer to San-Ai Kougen Hotel for the onsen.

 The hotel's outdoor onsen had lanes with bubble jets to massage the back, and a tremendous view of the clear night sky, Milky Way and all. 
 
 
  Back at the youth hostel, we finally wrote some of the postcards we had bought in Nagasaki and Shimabara.
