Sunday, Sept. 18 -- Donner Pass -- 27 miles
The two of us had flown to Reno the day before with our bikes and rented a van to get to Donner Memorial State Park in Truckee, Calif. We assembled our bikes and camped there with others from Adventure Cycling Association who arrived before the tour group was to convene on Sunday afternoon.

We had most of Sunday to explore, and after returning the van to the Truckee airport, we biked up Donner Pass (insert cannibal jokes here), down the other side a couple of miles, then back over and down. We returned to the campground along the south shore of Donner Lake.

Elevation 7,135 feet


This brochure tells the story of the Donner party and has a map of the state park.
